Legislation to Extend Time for Temporary Tags Passes State House

Legislation that will increase the length of time for a valid temporary tag has been passed in the State House. House Amendment 1 to HB 111 would increase the length of time from 60 days to 90 days – or until the issuance of a permanent registration. The measure also keeps a temporary registration plate for a certified repair technician to 60 days to allow the tech to operate a vehicle with expired registration so that repairs can be verified. House Bill 111 is now awaiting consideration in the Senate Environment, Energy & Transportation Committee.
