UPDATED: Incumbents Returned to Laurel Council
UPDATED – 3/28/19 – 9:20pm – The unofficial results of the municipal election Thursday in Laurel has both incumbents returning to the council. In Ward 1, incumbent Randy Lee edged out Richard McVey 23 to 22. In Ward 4, incumbent Cheryl Martin took 27 votes. Alfred Erskine received 12 votes and Bruce Ingram got 5. Chris Calio was unopposed for the At-large seat and John Shwed was unopposed for the Mayor’s seat.

Voters in Laurel will go to the polls on today to elect two people to the town council. There are two candidates running for the Ward 1 seat – incumbent Randy Lee is challenged by Richard McVey. For the Ward 4 seat, incumbent Cheryl Martin is challenged by Alfred Erskine and Bruce Ingram. There were two other seats up for election – Chris Calio ran unopposed for the at-large seat and John Shwed was unopposed for Mayor. The polls are open Thursday from 1 to 8pm at the Laurel Fire Hall.
