Laurel Man Sentenced for Attempted Rape & Burglary

A Laurel man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to attempted rape and burglary charges. Officials say 22 year old Tyrone Jenkins-Heath broke into a home on Penn Street in Laurel to take items – including the victim’s underwear and to force the two women living there to perform oral sex on him. Both women escaped through a window. Jenkins-Heath has been sentenced to 11 years in prison and must register as a Tier III sex offender.
