Laurel Man Faces Drug Charges after Child ODs

Delaware State Police were called to a Millsboro area home for an 11 year old in cardiac arrest.  When police arrived they found several small bags containing heroin in the victim’s pocket – 30 small bags were found at the scene.  Police learned the victim got the heroin from a friend a Laurel Elementary School who found it in his father’s car in an Altoids box and shared the unknown substance with the victim.  Police went to the father’s home at the Little Creek Apartments in Laurel where they arrested 31 year old Gilbert Dickerson.  Police seized 65 bags of heroin – 3 children were also at the home.  Dickerson faces several drug offenses – he is free on an unsecured bond.  The victim was taken to AI Dupont Children’s Hospital.
