Laurel Man Arrested for Drug Dealing
The Laurel Police Department was assisted by the Delaware State Police Sussex County Drug Unit in the arrest of a 26-year-old Laurel man on numerous drug charges.
Officers say they executed a search warrant at a home in the 400 block of Laurel Court, a suspected drug residence. The suspect, 26-year-old Treg Burris was subsequently taken into custody without incident. A search of that residence uncovered 1,362 bags of heroin with an approximate weight of 9.534 grams, a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson hand gun with an extended magazine and ammunition, 2,545 dollars in suspected drug proceeds, 1.41 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy) and numerous prescription pills including methadone, Adderall, Alprazolam, Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine, 28 – 8 mg Suboxone strips and 2 – 12 mg Suboxone Strips.
Burris was charged with Manufacture, Delivery and Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 4 quantity, Possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity, Possession of a Deadly weapon while in the possession of a controlled substance, Maintaining a Drug property, 6 counts of Possession of a Controlled or Counterfeited Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Not Marijuana Related and Breach of Release. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown in lieu of 128,401 dollars cash only bond.
