IRSD Names Teacher Of The Year

A teacher at East Millsboro Elementary School has been named Indian River School District Teacher of the Year.
Haley Mears has taught at East Millsboro for the past seven years. She served there as a paraprofessional before teaching at Georgetown Middle School, then returned to East Millsboro.
According to Principal Karen Clausen, Mrs. Mears encourages “inquiry, collaborative groups, student discussions and personal goal-setting” in her classroom.
Mrs. Mears is now in the running to become state Teacher of the Year in October.
