Intoxicated Rehoboth Beach Woman Arrested for Trespassing, Resisting Arrest
Rehoboth Beach Police say they have arrested and charged a local woman for trespassing on private property and resisting arrest.
The incident happened just before 4 p.m. on Sunday at a property at 235 Rehoboth Avenue. Police were called for a reported subject laying in the driveway, which is used for commercial and residential traffic. Officers contacted 58-year-old Brendon Gibbons of Rehoboth Beach and suspected she was intoxicated. They searched for a responsible party to whom Gibbons could be released, although she became uncooperative and made accusatory statements. When Officers attempted to place her under arrest she resisted by pulling her hands away and pushing the officer.
Gibbons was charged with one count of Third Degree Criminal Trespass and one count of Resisting Arrest, both misdemeanors. She was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown in default of 1,001 dollars secured bail.
