UPDATED: Early Morning Blaze at Malone’s Bayside Marina Leaves 1 Dead & 2 Injured

UPDATED 9:10am – A fire early this morning off Long Neck Road left a home destroyed.  Inside the home firefighters from Indian River rescued a resident who was taken to Beebe Medical Center and was pronounced dead.   Indian River firefighters were initially called for a vehicle fire just after 3am, but upgraded the call to a structure fire involving a mobile home.  State Fire Marshal investigators say two other occupants were treated at Beebe Medical Center and released.  The investigation continues into the cause and origin of the fire.  Damage is estimated at $50,000.

UPDATED – 7:35am – WGMD has learned from AlertPage that a victim has been pulled from a fire on Harbor Road at Malone’s Bayside Marina.  Firefighters from Indian River were called for a vehicle fire just after 3 this morning.  Crews arriving at the scene upgraded the call to a structure fire in a mobile home.  WGMD will have more as it becomes available.

Firefighters from Indian River were called for a vehicle fire just after 3 this morning.  Crews arriving at Malone’s Bayside Marina upgraded the call to a structure fire when they found fire coming from a mobile home on Harbor Road off Long Neck Road.  Millsboro and Lewes firefighters assisted.
