A Harrington man has been sentenced to at least 15 years in prison for the death of an infant that was under his care.  DOJ officials say 48 year old James Hammond and his girlfriend were caring for her 7-month old niece in 2014 while the parents were on vacation.  The infant was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital three days later with trauma to the head and serious traumatic brain injuries and died at the hospital.  Hammond was found guilty of 2nd degree murder by abuse and sentenced to 25 years in prison – suspended after serving 15 years.
