UPDATED: Harrington Man Killed in Crash

UPDATED Wed, 8:15am – The Delaware State Police say the man who was killed in a crash during the early morning hours on Tuesday, September 25 on Whiteleysburg Road was 86-year-old Philip Caliendo of Harrington. The crash remains under investigation.

One person is dead after a crash near the intersection of Ingram Branch Road and Whiteleysburg Road west of Harrington. Delaware State Police say a Dodge Dakota was northbound on Ingram Branch Road and failed to stop for a posted stop sign and tried to turn left onto Whiteleysburg Road and struck a Lincoln Town Car head on. The Town Car traveled off the road and caught fire. The 33 year old driver of the Town Car, from Galena Maryland, was wearing a seat belt and was taken to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 86 year old driver of the Dakota, from Harrington was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
