UPDATED: Two Dead After Crash on Harbeson Road

UPDATED- 11:00 A.M. Wed.- Delaware State Police have released the names of two people killed in a crash on Harbeson Road Tuesday morning. 46-year-old Michelle Esworthy of  Joppa, Maryland and 76-year-old Robert Dahms of  Spring Grove, Pennsylvania both died at the scene.

Police say Esworthy’s car crossed the center line of Harbeson Road and collided with Dahms’ SUV.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

UPDATED – 3:30pm – Two people are dead after a head-on crash just after 6:30 this morning on Harbeson Road south of Rust Road.  Delaware State Police say a Santa Fe was southbound when the driver of a Mazda 6 crossed the center line into the path of the Santa Fe.  The driver of the Mazda, a 46 year old woman from Joppa, Maryland was not properly restrained and pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the Santa Fe – a 76 year old man from Pennsylvania was properly restrained and pronounced dead at the scene.

A portion of Harbeson Road south of Route 9 was closed due to a crash. Tuesday morning.

Delaware State Police and DelDOT said Harbeson Road was shut down south of Rust Road for nearly three hours because of the accident and ongoing investigation.
