Harbeson Crash leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured

UPDATED – 9/1/19 – Delaware State Police have released the name of the New Jersey man killed in the crash in Harbeson as 79 year old John Acken.

A crash between a tractor trailer and Subaru Outback Friday afternoon at Indian Mission and Beaver Dam Roads has left a 79 year old New Jersey man dead.  Delaware State Police say the Outback failed to remain stopped at Beaver Dam Road and entered Indian Mission Road into the path of the tractor trailer.  The tractor trailer ended up in the trees – the driver was treated for minor injuries and released.  The driver of the Outback was pronounced dead at Beebe Medical Center – a female passenger is in critical condition at Christiana Hospital.  Police say everyone was properly restrained.  The crash remains under investigation.
