Greenwood Bicycle Rider Dies after Crash Near Seaford

A bicycle rider traveling in the northbound shoulder of Sussex Highway near Seaford was struck by a pickup truck just before 10 last night.  Delaware State Police continue to investigate, but say the bicycle rider, a 56 year old man from Greenwood, was thrown from the bike and landed on the shoulder of the road.  He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.  The driver of the pickup – a 29 year old Georgetown man was properly restrained and not injured.  It does not appear that he was impaired.
