Governor John Carney Announces Judicial Nominations
Governor John Carney has made several nominations for judicial appointments this week. He has nominated Sussex County Superior Court Judge Richard Stokes for appointment to the position of Resident Judge – he is currently the Acting Resident Judge. He also nominated attorney Craig Karsnitz for a seat on the Sussex County Superior Court. Two judicial nominations were also made for New Castle County Family Court and Court of Common Pleas. State lawmakers approved Senate Bill 232 at the end of the last session which increases the Court of Chancery to six vice-chancellors. The Governor has nominated Morgan Zurn and Kathaleen McCormick to round out the Court of Chancery. The State Senate will consider all the nominations during a special session set for October 3.
