UPDATED: Georgetown Woman Dies After Struck on Route 113 Thursday Night
UPDATED – 7/13/19 – 8:30am Delaware State Police have identified the woman who died in the pedestrian crash Thursday night as 28 year old Takeyia Hobbs of Georgetown. Their investigation is continuing.

A Georgetown woman is dead after she was struck while crossing Route 113 near Ennis Street in Georgetown last night just after 9. Delaware State Police say the 28 year old woman came out of the median into the southbound lanes directly into the path of a Volkswagon Bug. The driver of the VW, a 21 year old woman from Arnold, MD was not able to avoid the collision and did remain at the scene. She was properly restrained. Police say the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing and not carrying a light and was not in a crosswalk. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
