Georgetown Teen Charged with Attempted Robbery Near Selbyville

Delaware State Police say they have arrested 18-year-old Emner Morales Garcia of Georgetown, after he attempted to rob a residence in the Cape Windsor neighborhood east of Selbyville.

Troopers say the incident happened Wednesday afternoon after 5 p.m. in the 38000 block of Wilson Avenue. Troopers say a 15-year-old resident of the home said Garcia entered the house uninvited to retrieve money that was reported to be owed to him. He proceeded to point a handgun at the 15-year-old and a physical altercation ensued. A 20-year-old resident of the home also had Garcia points handgun at him. The 15-year-old sustained minor injuries while the 20-year-old victim was uninjured.

Garcia fled the residence prior to police arrival but later turned himself in where a pellet gun was recovered from his vehicle. Garcia has been charged with attempted first degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, 2 counts of aggravated menacing, and 2 counts of third degree assault.

Garcia was arraigned and held on 41,200 dollars unsecured bond.
