Georgetown Police Arrest New York Man for Possessing 22 Pounds of Marijuana
Georgetown Police have arrested a New York man for drug related charges after stopping him for a traffic violation on South Dupont Boulevard.
On Tuesday around 9 p.m., Georgetown Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on South Dupont Boulevard near Trap Pond Road. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of 22 pounds of marijuana.
Officers also located and seized 300 THC vape pens from the vehicle.
Thanh Nguyen 49, of Brooklyn, New York was arrested for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity, and possession of marijuana.
Nguyen was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court and released on $40,260 unsecured bail.
