Georgetown PD Arrest Man for Attempted Robbery

Georgetown Police have arrested a man who tried to rob a man walking along Bramhall Street Monday evening. Police say 20 year old Alex Lopez asked the victim for money, but when the victim said he had none – Lopez insisted he check his pockets. The victim crossed Route 113 to get away from Lopez, but he followed and forced his hand into the victim’s pants pocket trying to take his cell phone. The victim began flagging vehicles and the suspect ran off. Police located and arrested Lopez later that evening – he’s charged with attempted 2nd degree robbery and was released on an unsecured bail.
