Georgetown Man Charged in Ellendale Home Burglary

Delaware State Police have arrested a Georgetown man in connection with a home burglary.  Police say it occurred between June 18 and July 3 on Beaver Dam Road near Ellendale.  The victim was on vacation and returned to find items missing and a window unsecured.  Police learned that a jar containing money was taken as well as about 50 crab traps and scrap metal.  Police developed 29 year old Eric Whitman as a suspect after he took stolen metal to a scrap yard, signed that he was the owner and got payment.  Whitman was arrested over the weekend and charged with 2^nd degree burglary and other offenses.
