Fruitland Man Found Guilty of 2nd Degree Rape

A Fruitland man has been convicted of 2nd degree rape, assault and other offenses after a three day trial in Salisbury last week. A Wicomico County Jury found 27 year old Drew Carter guilty of sexually and physically assaulting the victim in a residence on Hayward Avenue – causing significant injuries to the victim. Judge S. James Sarbanes has postponed sentencing pending the completion of a pre-sentence investigation.
