Storms moving to the south and east

UPDATED – 12:25pm – Storms are moving south and off the coast – some storms remaining between Bethany Beach and Ocean City.  The Delaware Electric Cooperative has restored power to all but all but two members – in the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach area.  Delmarva Power also has scattered small outages in the Millsboro, Ocean View and north Slaughter Beach areas.  Traffic is very heavy along parts of Route 1 from Fenwick to Lewes, Routes 54 and 26.

UPDATED:  11:40am – We’ve got storms moving through central & eastern Sussex County – however they’ve come from the western side of the county.  Right now – Delaware Electric Cooperative has 91 members without power in the Seaford area – estimated restoration between 1:30 – 3:30pm – a handful of other outages in Millsboro, Laurel and Love Creek area – expected restoration times between 1:30 and 4:30pm.

There has been some intense thunder and lightning and some heavy rain associated with this storm.

A house south of Lewes on Ketch Court – struck by lightning with fire in the basement.  Multiple units from Lewes and Rehoboth on or responding to the scene.
