February 12, 2018
Delaware Public Health officials say the number of lab-confirmed cases of the flu in Delaware has surged – with 995 cases recorded between January 28 and February 3 – with a total of just under 3000 cases for the current season. There were also 6 more flu-related deaths in the past week – bring the total to 10. One was in Sussex County – the other 5 in New Castle County. All were between the ages of 60 and 93 and all had underlying health conditions. A flu shot is the best way to prevent flu illness, serious flu complications, and the spread of the flu in the community.
