Flu Continues its Attack on Delaware
February 4, 2018
The flu continues to hit Delaware hard – and will likely continue to do so for several more weeks. Through January 20th there have been over 1289 lab confirmed cases of the flu in the First State – with Sussex County coming in at the second highest – with 437. Sussex County had its first flu related death on January 24th – in a 76 year old man who had other underlying health conditions. There have been two other deaths – both in elderly people in New Castle County. Delaware Public Health officials urge anyone who has not gotten a flu shot to get one – it may not stop you from getting the flu, but it can reduce the symptoms you feel and the length of time you are sick.
