AT 546 PM EST, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN THAT WILL CAUSE FLOODING. BETWEEN ONE AND TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN. *
SOME LOCATIONS THAT COULD EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE… LEWES, SELBYVILLE, DAGSBORO, MILLVILLE, HENLOPEN ACRES, LONG NECK, OCEAN VIEW, FRANKFORD, SOUTH BETHANY AND DEWEY BEACH.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… TURN AROUND…DON’T DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND NOW. ACT QUICKLY TO PROTECT YOUR LIFE. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODING.
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS, FARMLAND, AND OTHER LOW LYING SPOTS.
