Five Arrested by Dover Police after Firearms Investigation

A firearms investigation by Dover Police led to the arrest of 5 people aged 14 to 21. Police began investigating 18 year old JaShawn Moore and a 15 year old for firearms offenses. Tuesday police went into a Bacon Avenue residence with a search warrant and arrested 21 year old Malachi Moore, the 15 year old male, 17 year old female, 15 year old male and a 34 year old male – all from Dover. A search of the home turned up a handgun, magazines containing ammunition, over 8 grams of cocaine and packaging material. At the same time another search warrant was executed at a residence on Roberta Avenue where police arrested JaShawn Moore and seized several handguns – one of them loaded, over 3 grams of crack cocaine and additional ammunition. The 34 year old man was not charged with anything related to the firearms investigation. The other five all face weapons offenses.

Malachi Moore was committed to SCI on $15,000 cash bail on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm By a Person Prohibited
  • Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
  • Conspiracy Second Degree

JaShawn Moore was committed to SCI on $102,800 cash bail on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (3x)
  • Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (2x)
  • Possession of Cocaine
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

The 17-year-old female was released on $1,500 unsecured bail on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm By a Prohibited Juvenile
  • Conspiracy Second Degree

The 15-year-old male was released on $3,000 unsecured bail on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm By a Prohibited Juvenile
  • Possession of a Cocaine in a Tier 1 Quantity
  • Conspiracy Second Degree

The 14-year-old male was released on $1,500 unsecured bail on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm By a Prohibited Juvenile
  • Conspiracy Second Degree
