Fireworks, Jazz Funeral to End Summer in Bethany Beach

Fireworks will be on display following the Sunday Still Surfin’ performance, at approximately 9:15 pm. The fireworks will be launched off the beach at Wellington Parkway. Standard parking rules will be in effect. Then on Monday, Labor Day, the 38th annual Jazz Funeral officially brings summer to an end. Activities begin around 5:30 p.m. at the north end of the boardwalk. A procession of “mourners” accompanied by the Downtown Dixieland Band, the Dixie Cats, and the Jazz Funeral Irregulars, will carry a casket with a decorated mannequin representing “Summer of 2023” to its final resting place at the Bandstand.
