UPDATE : Fire Tears Through Ocean Pines Home
The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office released the following details Wednesday afternoon:
The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office has investigated a fire which left 9 Ocean Pines residents homeless and damaged 3 homes. At 10:02PM on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 the Worcester County Emergency Services (911) received a report of a house fire at 301 Ocean Parkway in Ocean Pines, Worcester County, Maryland. Volunteer fire departments from Ocean Pines, Berlin, Showell, Bishopville and Ocean City responded to the fire. Firefighters remained on the scene for 4 hours. The house where the fire originated was occupied by 4 Adults and 5 children, ages 2, 4, 8, 10 and 12. Two additional adjacent homes received exterior damage from the fire. All occupants escape the fire uninjured. An Ocean Pines firefighter received a leg injury and was transported to AGH and later released. Red Cross assisted the 9 displaced residents with temporary housing and clothing. The cause of the fire is contributed to juvenile fire play.”

A house fire in Ocean Pines resulted in one firefighter being treated at a hospital. The firefighter was later released.
The Blaze broke out Tuesday night at the home on Ocean Parkway and gutted the home, causing a partial collapse. Fire boats also responded.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
