Multiple houses caught fire in Rehoboth last night. Around 3:10 AM Rehoboth Beach Fire Company responded to a call on Silver Lake near Poodle Beach. Crews found two houses engulfed in flames upon arrival. Extra help was brought in from 16 local fire companies across the county, both to help fight the fire and to cover responding unit’s stations. Initial units were hampered by severe winds, cold temperatures and low water pressure from the county hydrant.
Although the State Fire Marshal has yet to release a report, pictures from the fire show it might be a total loss, as at least two homes were completely reduced to just a shell. No injuries are being reported as a result of the fire.
