Felton Man Dies in Thursday Evening Motorcycle Crash

Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened on Turkey Point Road in Viola, Kent County on Thursday evening.

Troopers say the incident happened around 9:28 p.m. when a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle slammed into the back of a 1963 Oliver Tractor pulling a Hay Binder/Cutter. The motorcyclist failed to observe the tractor and was ejected from the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, 43-year-old Robert Mcgee of Felton was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 63-year-old tractor operator from Felton was not injured. Troopers say his lights were operational and the hay binder had two reflective strips as well as a “slow moving vehicle” reflective triangle.

The roadway was closed for over three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared. Troopers continue to investigate.
