Felton Man Charged with 5th Felony DUI

A Felton man has been arrested for a 5th offense DUI after a traffic stop Monday afternoon in Camden. A Delaware State Police trooper spotted a tan pickup truck swerve and cross the solid white shoulder line several times on southbound Hazlettville Road. The trooper stopped the pickup and contacted the driver, 55 year old David McAdams of Felton, and smelled alcohol coming from McAdams’ breath and burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. McAdams was arrested for DUI and a search of the pickup turned up drug paraphernalia and a computer check showed that McAdams had 4 prior convictions for DUI.

McAdams was taken to Troop 3 and charged with the following offenses:

  • 5th Offense DUI (Felony)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Failure to Remain Within a Single Lane

McAdams was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $6,002 secured bond.
