Felton Man Charged With 4th DUI

A Felton man is charged with his 4th DUI offense following a single-vehicle crash on Route 13 Halloween night.

According to Felton Police, the vehicle landed in a ditch and the driver was unresponsive at the time. Police said drug paraphernalia was out in plain view.

A DUI investigation ensued, and 50-year-old Eric Lefort was taken into custody. A computer check showed that Lefort had three previous DUI convictions dating back to 1992.

Felton Police listed these charges:

He was processed and charged with 4th offense Driving Under the Influence of Any Drug (Class E Felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Not Related to Personal Use Quantity Marijuana X2 (Class B Misdemeanor), Malicious Mischief by a MV (Misdemeanor) and Failure to Remain within a Single Lane (Violation). The accused was unable to be arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institute on an intoxication hold. Assisting agencies were Camden Police Department, Kent County Paramedics, Felton EMS and Felton Fire Company.
