Conley’s Thrift Shop Still Open – Angola

Since it opened over ten years ago, Conley’s Thrift Shop on Robinsonville Road in the Angola
area of Lewes has become a staple of the surrounding community, and a welcome oasis from a
difficult economy. Whether you need low cost clothing, furniture, or household items, or just a
friendly hello and a prayer, you will find it at Conley’s Thrift Shop. In addition, the shop helps
the homeless and disadvantaged with many of these items at little or no cost, and supports the
many outreach ministries of Conley’s Church.
On May 12 th DELDOT closed Robinsonville Road at the intersection with Route 24 until August
of 2024. This essentially cut off the direct access to Conley’s Thrift Shop from Route 24. During
the winter of 2022-2023 partial closures due to construction on that section of Robinsonville
Road resulted in significantly reduced sales at the Thrift Shop, but that was during the slowest
season. This closure is taking place during the busiest season of the year, and that means all the
programs and outreach supported by Thrift Shop will suffer as well.
