UPDATED: Ellendale Woman & Dog Die in Crash Near Milton

An Ellendale woman and her dog are dead after a crash Monday afternoon at Shingle Point and Gravel Hill Roads near Milton.  Delaware State Police say just before 1:30pm a 67 year old Lyn Kargaard of Ellendale stopped for a stop sign on Shingle Point Road – but then pulled into the path of a pickup truck driven by a 38 year old man from Georgetown.  Police say the truck struck the driver’s side of the car which rotated and ejected the driver.  Kargaard was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her Doberman was in a cage in the rear of the car and also died.  Police say impairment is not a factor for either driver.  The investigation is continuing.
