Ellendale Woman Charged with Weapons Offenses After an Assault

An Ellendale woman has been arrested on felony weapons offenses after a investigation by Delaware State Police in to an assault on Wednesday. Police were called just before 9am Wednesday for an assault at a home on Orchard Road in Ellendale and contacted a 29 year old Millsboro man with a cut to his arm. Police learned that 26 year old Briana Diedrich of Ellendale cut the man with a machete. Police arrested Diedrich without incident ā and recovered the machete.
Diedrich was taken into custody and was transported to Troop 7, where she was charged with the following crimes:
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Assault Second Degree (Felony)
- Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
- Terroristic Threatening
Diedrich was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $33,000 cash bond.
