Ellendale man arrested on drug, weapons charges
A domestic dispute between two brothers led to the arrest of an Ellendale man on drug and weapons charges.
According to Delaware State Police, shortly before 1:30 p.m., Wednesday troopers were called to the parking lot of the Ellendale Firehouse to meet with a victim in reference to a report of a domestic incident involving a handgun.
Troopers arrived and met with a 58-year-old male victim who said he and his brother, 52-year-old Charles Turner, got into a fight and that he pulled a handgun on him.
The victim was able to leave the house unharmed and stopped at the Firehouse parking lot to call police.
While at the Firehouse, Turner showed up. A traffic stop was conducted when troopers detected an odor of Marijuana.
A search of Turner’s vehicle turned up over 8 grams of Marijuana and ammunition. A computer inquiry revealed he was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Turner was taken into custody without incident.
A search warrant was obtained for Turner鈥檚 home where police found over a hundred grams of Marijuana and multiple firearms and ammunition.
Turner was charged with Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (4 counts), Aggravated Menacing, Offensive Touching, and Possession of Marijuana. He was arraigned and released on $19,000 unsecured bond.
