UPDATED – 11am – A serious crash at the entrance to Mallard Lakes west of Fenwick Island just before 2:30 Friday morning is under investigation by Delaware State Police.  Police say an Uber driver in a Volkswagen was taking two passengers to Mallard Lakes from Ocean City but used Smitty McGee’s across from the development entrance as a landmark.  The driver pulled into the left turn lane when the passenger told him to turn right into Mallard Lakes.  As the driver moved to turn right – he struck a motorcycle driven by a 47 year old man from Rehoboth Beach and a 42 year old female passenger – both were ejected – neither wore a helmet.  The motorcycle driver was taken to Christiana Hospital – his passenger was taken to PRMC in Salisbury with serious non-life threatening injuries.  The VW driver was treated for minor injuries – his passengers were not injured.
