Early Morning Fire at Mad Fish in West Ocean City

UPDATED 8/3/19 – Nine fire companies from Worcester and Sussex Counties responded to the fire.  It took firefighters over an hour to bring the fire under control.  The building was not occupied at the time of the fire.  No injuries were reported.  The investigation is continuing.

UPDATED – 6pm – Ocean City fire crews were called for a structure fire on Harbor Road just after 4:30 Friday morning.  Fire fighters arriving at the Mad Fish Bar & Grill found heavy smoke and fire visible. Multiple fire companies from Worcester and Sussex Counties helped to battle the blaze.  The Worcester County Fire Marshal is investigating – but it’s believed the fire began in the rear of the building in the storage area.  On their website, Mad Fish management says they will be back and stronger than ever.

Ocean City fire crews are on the scene of a structure fire on Harbor Road. The first call came in at 4:37am. Firefighters arrived at the scene at the Mad Fish Bar & Grill to find heavy smoke and fire visible. A third alarm has been called and a fire boat has been requested. Multiple fire companies from Worcester and Sussex Counties are on the scene or providing cover.

Ocean City spokesperson, Jessica Waters tells WGMD the restaurant was not occupied when the fire broke out. The Worcester County Fire Marshal is investigating to determine the cause of the fire. As of 7:55am, crews remain on the scene.
