UPDATED: DSP Arrest Suspect in Bank Robberies in Felton and NCCo
UPDATED 8-14-19 – Delaware State Police have arrested a man wanted in multiple bank robberies over the past 2 weeks. Wednesday afternoon investigators and the Marshals Task Force arrested 39 year old Michael Wheeler of Wilmington in connection with bank robberies in Middletown, Wilmington and Felton. He’s charged with a variety of offenses including 1st and 2nd degree robbery and is being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in default of $70,000 secured bond.

UPDATED 8-6-19 – The suspect who robbed the WSFS Bank in Felton has been identified as 39 year old Michael Wheeler of Wilmington. He is responsible for three bank robberies since Friday – including an M&T Bank in Middletown and Wells Fargo in Wilmington – both on Monday. Police have warrants on file for Wheeler – if you know where he is – contact Crime Stoppers.

UPDATED 8-5-19 – Delaware State Police have now posted surveillance pictures of the suspect in the W-S-F-S Bank robbery Friday evening just before 5. The suspect handed the teller a note demanding cash – implied he had a weapon, but did NOT display any weapon. Delaware State Police are investigating a bank robbery Friday just before 5pm at the WSFS Bank in Felton. Police say a man handed the teller a note demanding cash – and gestured towards his waistband – implying that he had a weapon – but no weapon was displayed.
