DSP Find Stolen Gun during Traffic Stop in Dover

A Dover man was arrested by Delaware State Police after a traffic stop Friday afternoon. Police on patrol saw dark tinting on the front and read windows but that the vehicle had no waiver on file with the DMV. Police contacted the driver, 30 year old Brandon Marshall and smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and spotted drug paraphernalia in plain view. During a search of the vehicle police found a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat. A computer check showed the gun was reported stolen by Colorado Springs Police in January of 2022.

Marshall was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 3, where he was charged with the following offenses:

  • Carrying a Concealed Firearm (Felony)
  • Receiving a Stolen Firearm (Felony)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Numerous traffic offenses

Marshall was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $13,250 unsecured bond.
