A man has been arrested after he was seen by a witness beating a bicyclist with an object in the area of Plantation and Cedar Grove Road Sunday morning.   The victim, a 50 year old man from Milton, told Delaware State Police that a white work truck got very close to him and nearly ran him off the road, then the subject blew a loud horn while was next to the biker.  The victim was startled and punched the driver’s side window of the truck – causing no damage, but the driver stopped in the middle of the road, grabbed something from the bed of the truck and tried to strike the victim.  The victim blocked the object with his arm – which was cut.  The driver took off – but State Police found him in the Heritage Village development and arrested 33 year old Matthew McDavid on charges of 2nd degree assault and other offenses.  He’s free on an unsecured bond.
