Dredging of OC Inlet to Begin Wednesday
August 6, 2019
Congressman Andy Harris has announced the start of dredging of the Ocean City Inlet. The United States Army Corps of Engineers was able to secure a corps dredge vessel from their sister district, Wilmington, for the project. That vessel arrived today and will conduct five days’ worth of dredging over the coming week beginning on Wednesday.
Harris says this is a priority project for Ocean City, “I applaud the Army Corps of Engineers for taking the steps necessary to get dredging of the Ocean City Inlet underway. The fishing and maritime industry is critical to our local economy and community. This dredging is a high priority, and I am glad the Corps is getting the job done.”
