Dover Police arrest NY men for stealing over $70k in Apple products

Dover Police charged three men from Brooklyn, New York in a shoplifting case where $73,893 in Apple products were stolen from a Dover-area Target store.

According to the Dover Police Department, around 9:30 p.m., Monday, the three men broke into a secured case and took a variety of Apple electronics and then fled the store.

The suspects made a similar attempt at the Christiana Target store after the Dover incident, but were unsuccessful. Loss prevention employees were able to obtain a description of their vehicle and pass it on to regional Target stores.

Shorty after the Christiana attempt, troopers with the Delaware State Police spotted the suspect’s vehicle in the parking lot of the Brandywine Target store.

Troopers searched the vehicle and located all of the stolen Apple products from the Dover incident.

The suspects, identified as 28-year-old Jonathan Vinas, 43-year-old Gilberto Cortez, and 34-year-old Joey Lattimore. All three suspects were committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $3,500 secured bonds for Organized Retail Crime, Possession of Shoplifters Tools and 2nd Degree Conspiracy.
