Dover Man Arrested for Assault in Milford
Milford Patrol officers were contacted Friday by a subject asking for help to get property from a residence on NW 2nd Street. As police were heading to that location the subject called to say he’d been assaulted by someone at the residence. Officers arriving at the scene contacted the victim who had visible injuries and told police he was assaulted by 47 year old Frederick Caldwell of Dover, who was gone from the scene. An arrest warrant was obtained and Caldwell was arrested on Saturday with help from Dover Police and charged with the following offenses:
- Assault 1st Degree
- Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Aggravated Menacing
- Breach of Release
Caldwell had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court and was committed to the Department of Correction in lieu of $62,000 cash bail. Caldwell was also issued a no contact order with the victim. Caldwell was ordered to appear in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas at a later date.
