Dorchester County Man Pleads Guilty to Crash that Killed 5 NJ Family Members on Route 1
Alvin Hubbard III of East New Market in Dorchester County had pleaded guilty to numerous charges relating to the deaths of five members of the same New Jersey family following a July 2018 crash on Route 1 in Townsend.
The father of a family and four daughters died in the crash, with only the mother surviving. The New Jersey family was returning from a vacation in Ocean City, Maryland at the time of the crash. Hubbard, operating a Ford F-350 pickup truck crossed the median, colliding with the family’s mini-van.
According to WPVI-TV, Hubbard pleaded guilty to five counts of Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death, one count of Second Degree and Vehicular Assault and one count of Third Degree Vehicular Assault. Sentencing will take place at a later date.
