DOJ Finds Use of Force Justified in Death of PA Fugitive in Rehoboth Beach
The Department of Justice investigation into the use of deadly force in the death of a fugitive from Pennsylvania in December 10, 2020 has been found justified by the Department of Justice. During a shootout with Evelio Rivera, Cpl Timothy Webb of the Milford Police Department was injured. Webb was a member of the Federal Marshal’s Service Task Force at the time, along with cpl Joshua DiGiacomo and Probation Officer George Ramsburg. Read the original story here
The report states that “Rivera had a history of violence, was a parole absconder and a fugitive from an attempted murder case – and he fired repeatedly at the police who were trying to bring him to justice. The Task Force officers were not reckless or negligent in forming the belief that return fire was immediately necessary.”
