Dogs & Cats Displaced by Hurricane Florence Ready for Adoption in Georgetown
September 22, 2018
Over 200 animals from three North Carolina shelters that were impacted by Hurricane Florence have arrived at the Brandywine SPCA. Some of the dogs and cats have been transferred to their northern Delaware and Pennsylvania facilities and some have gone to other shelters. However there are over 100 adoptable cats and dogs at the BVSPCA Rescue and Rehab facility on Shingle Point Road that will be looking for new homes beginning this weekend. The center will be open from 1 to 5pm Saturday and Sunday for adoptions. Only animals that were already up for adoption will be available – no local animals found during the storm have left the area – so they have a better chance of being reunited with their families.
