Update: OC Police Continue Investigation Into Body Discovered On Beach

Ocean City Police continue to investigate the death of an adult male whose body was found in the surf off the 14th Street beach.


Police say a public works employee who was surveying the beach for evidence of the recent oil spill discovered the body Tuesday morning. The body has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.


The Police Criminal Investigation Division Major Crimes Unit is investigating to determine the identity of the person who died and the cause of death. Police are not aware of any known missing persons in the area.

Ocean City Police are investigating the discovery of a body on the beach this morning.

The body of an adult male apparently washed ashore in the area of the 14th Street beach at about 7:15 a.m. An investigation is underway.

Access to the beach was closed for a while, but the beach has since reopened.

There is no word on the identity of the person who died or the cause of death.
