DE’s Public Service Commission granted more authority
January 24, 2018
Yesterday the Delaware General Assembly approving changes to public utilities in the state. While electric companies must obtain a certificate to operate in Delaware as a new electric transmission utility, other utilities providing water, wastewater, or other services are not required to obtain a similar certificate. The new bill also allows the Public Service Commission to assess the potential impact of projects on the state, and gives the commission the authority to revoke certificates in the future for good cause. The bill passed unanimously, and now heads to the Gov. Carney’s desk for action.
