A Delmar man is charged with multiple counts of vehicular assault after a DUI-related crash Saturday afternoon east of Millsboro.  Delaware State Police say that just after 5pm a pickup driven by 38 year old James Cannon was stopped on Townsend Road but failed to stop when an SUV driven by a Milford man proceeded through the intersection on Mt Joy Road with the right of way.  The vehicles collided – the Milford man and two children – aged 6 years old and 18 months were taken to Beebe Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  A 4 year old in the SUV was taken to AI DuPont Hospital for Children with serious injuries.  Cannon and 1 passenger in the pickup were treated at Beebe for non-life threatening injuries and a second passenger in the truck was not injured.  Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash – Cannon is charged with 1st degree vehicular assault, 4 counts of 2nd degree vehicular assault, DUI and other offenses.
