Delmar Man Arrested After Shooting Towards DSP
A Delmar man has been arrested after an incident Tuesday night. Delaware State Police were called just after 8 for a shooting at a home on Blue Bird Lane. The caller, 64 year old Roger Little told dispatchers he shot a man armed with a knife who broke into his home and that there were others in the home. When troopers arrived, Little fired at in the direction of the trooper, who returned fire. Additional gunfire was heard in the house and police were able to get Little to leave the house and get into an unoccupied DSP vehicle where he was arrested. There were no injuries and police found no evidence of an intruder. Little was taken to an area hospital for preexisting medical concerns.
He will be arraigned on the following charges when he is released from the hospital:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Reckless Endangering First Degree (Felony)
- Criminal Trespass Third Degree
Little remains in the custody of Department of Corrections personnel while he receives medical care.
